About me
I was born in 1962 and started painting at the age of 47, with no prior background in art, driven purely by a deep passion for it. The following year, I entered Soore University in Tehran and earned a bachelor’s degree in painting. Throughout these years, my sole purpose was to learn—learning what I didn’t know and striving to better understand and enhance my scientific and practical knowledge in the field of art.
Now, in the fall of 2024, I have decided to share my works. These pieces are quite diverse, as they are the result of my practice in expressing what I think and sometimes what I believe I should think. As an Iranian-born artist, my paintings are undoubtedly influenced by my culture, the socio-political conditions of the country, and the many memories I carry from before and after the Islamic Revolution. Additionally, the time I have spent and continue to spend in Canada has significantly shaped my work.
Many of my pieces are inspired by Iranian folklore, childhood memories, and family experiences. From a young age, I saw images in objects, clouds, and the world around me and would create stories for them. These imaginings and stories have found their way into my paintings.
